Staying fit and healthy is about much more than jogging and lifting weights a few times a week. While doing these things on a regular basis is better than sitting on the couch, many people don’t understand the science behind developing an overall fitness program. This is understandable because there is a lot of information out there that is difficult to interpret and put together into a fitness program. However, in order to achieve optimal health, one must understand the science of program design in order to prevent plateaus, injury and boredom.
My training philosophy is based on taking the science of exercise physiology, kinesiology, and nutrition and applying them in an artistic and creative way. I take these complicated subjects and apply them in a simplistic way. I teach people how to lose weight (and keep it off), gain strength, increase flexibility, improve cardio respiratory fitness and use their bodies in the most effective and efficient manner.
Every person I work with is different. Although some people's goals may be the same (i.e. lose weight, increase strength, increase energy, gain flexibility, etc...) the most efficient and effective way to hit a fitness goal varies for each individual. Each individual SAFE training program varies depending on a number of factors.
I don't believe that training one particular system or putting someone through a cookie-cutter program is in the client's best interest. There are so many tools available that can help people in many ways . . . limiting myself, (or my clients), to one particular system does not help the majority of people. While one person may benefit from super-slow training, the next may get best results through explosive kettlebell training. Some people get optimal results from a combination of various types of programs. There is no right or wrong way. With me, you won't get a sales pitch on why MY style is better than another's. The bottom line is I train people, not systems! If anything, I specialize in the body movements of each individual client I work with.
